Workshop on Modern Trends in Farm Animals Feed Formulation

Department Livestock Production and Management organized a workshop on trends in farm animal feed formulation at PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi. Besides industrial professionals, students and farmers also attended. Experts discussed practical aspects of Dairy Feed Formulation and poultry feed formulation with hands-on training. 76 individuals got training on animal feed formulation in this workshop.

Prof. Dr. Tanveer and Dr. Syeda Maryam Hussain conducted a pre-training test before the workshop to assess the participants’ proficiency in animal feed formulation and animal nutrition.

Farm Animal Feed Formulation Workshop

Prof. Dr. Tanveer Ahmad delivered a comprehensive lecture on the “Basics of Feed Formulation. He also conducted a demonstration on “Feed Formulation Using Software”. Furthermore, Dr. M Ali Raza Bhutta, Feeding Manager at Dada Dairies Kasur, shared practical insights on Dairy Feed Formulation. He also discussed the nutritional requirements of dairy animals.

Dr. M Sahfique, a dairy nutritionist, talked about Transition Period Management. He also focused on Metabolic Disorders Associated with Nutrition. Moreover, Dr. M. Farooq Iqbal delivered a lecture on Innovative Feeding Approaches.

On the second day, Dr. M Asad Iqbal presented two talks. Besides Premix Formulation,  he also talked about Practices of Feed Formulation Software.

Dr. Nasir Mukhtar practically formulated vitamin and mineral premixes in the laboratory for both poultry and dairy animals. Furthermore, Dr. M Fiaz briefed about the project of Traceable meat in the livestock industry.

Prof. Dr. Arfan Yousaf, Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, graced the concluding session as the Guest of Honor. He expressed his appreciation for the trainers, concluding the training session.

Farmers gained valuable insights into poultry feed formulation and dairy feed formulation practices.
