Bakery waste disposal is a routine activity of the Bakery industry. The industry does not demolish this waste but recycles it. Besides other bakery waste recycling options, bakery waste for poultry feed and bakery waste for cattle feed is used. Bakery waste animal feed especially in poultry gives good results. Biscuits are an excellent source of energy. We use it in our daily life. Biscuit and bakery industries also generate large amounts of unused waste material. Due to the high cost of energy components in animal feed, we need to focus on non-conventional energy sources. Besides reducing the cost of production, it will positively affect the import burden and the country’s economy. Bakery waste for poultry feed and bakery waste for cattle feed is the option.

Storage is very important for Bakery Waste Recycling. It is important to preserve this material to avoid fungus. For this purpose, proper storage should be arranged for it.

Nutritional Value of Bakery Waste Animal Feed

The nutritional value of Bakery Waste Animal Feed depends upon the composition. Wheat flour, skimmed milk powder, various vegetable oils, sugar, salt, and other ingredients are commonly used. The composition of Biscuit industry waste differs depending on the formulation and ingredients used. Its nutritional value is similar to that of maize in terms of various nutrients. Since it uses wheat flour and vegetable oils, it is estimated to have more metabolizable energy than corn.

Bakery waste contains 95% dry matter, 12.6% crude protein, 0.8% crude fiber, 5.5% ether extract, and 2.8% ash on average. Importantly, the nutritional value of this material may vary depending on the ingredients used.

Bakery Waste for Poultry Feed

In poultry, this material can replace maize up to 15% during the starter and finisher stages. This will not compromise the performance, nutrient digestibility, and good meat characteristics in the broiler. Moreover, it can replace up to fifteen percent of expensive conventional nutrients in broiler ration formulation. Furthermore, it will improve performance and profitability. This is a good example of bakery waste disposal.

Bakery Waste for Cattle Feed

On the other hand, its energy content in cattle is similar to that of high-energy grains. However, its high consumption in cattle can cause acidosis. However, if we increase the amount of green fodder in the livestock feed, we can use more bakery waste for cattle.
