Cat Steatitis or Pansteatitis in cats relates to inflammation of adipose tissues in the body. The cause of this disease is excess fat in the body and lack of vitamin E. This vitamin metabolizes fat tissues while its deficiency damages body cells. However, excess of saturated fatty acids in the diet and deficiency of vitamin E cause problems with fat in the body.

In short, over consumption of oily fish or liver is the main cause of this disease. On the other hand, if vitamin E deficiency occurs, the chances of disease increase. Moreover, excessive consumption of tuna fish is a major cause. Furthermore, young and overweight cats are more prone to this disease.
