Causes of Yellow Fat Disease in Cats
Cat Steatitis or Pansteatitis in cats relates to inflammation of adipose tissues in the body. The cause of this disease is excess fat in the body and lack of vitamin E. This vitamin metabolizes fat tissues while its deficiency damages body cells. However, excess of saturated fatty acids in the diet and deficiency of vitamin E cause problems with fat in the body.
In short, over consumption of oily fish or liver is the main cause of this disease. On the other hand, if vitamin E deficiency occurs, the chances of disease increase. Moreover, excessive consumption of tuna fish is a major cause. Furthermore, young and overweight cats are more prone to this disease.
Yellow Fact Disease Symptoms
Yellow Fact Disease Symptoms are severe and appear quickly. In case of severity, the cat does not allow itself to be touched. Its symptoms include fever, loss of appetite, sensitive fur and dull color. Furthermore, hypersensitive skin, lethargy, depression and lack of movement occur. Sometimes cats become addicted to eating fish or specially tuna fish. In such a situation, one should use processed cat feed with tuna flavor. In this regard, on should consult Vet for the feed choice after recovery of Cat Steatitis or Pansteatitis in cats.
Other causes of Yellow Cat Disease
Besides Yellow Fact Disease, other reasons may also cause the cats to be yellow. Some cat breeds naturally have a yellow or golden coat color. For example, the Burmese and Abyssinian breeds are known for their reddish or yellowish coloration.
