University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS Lahore) is the leading veterinary university in Pakistan. It has historical importance in the field of veterinary education. Besides DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), the University is offering a number of other UVAS undergraduate programs. Moreover, Veterinary University Lahore is also offering UVAS Postgraduate Programs including MPhil and PhD programs in various subjects.
History of UVAS Lahore
University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS Lahore) was initially established as a Veterinary School in 1882 during the British colonial era. In 1886, it was upgraded into a Veterinary College. In 2002, it transformed into a University and named as University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore. The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore, ranks among the top ten universities in Pakistan.

Faculty of Veterinary Science UVAS Lahore
The Faculty of Veterinary Science UVAS Lahore is dedicated to veterinary education, research, and healthcare services. It comprises of several departments which include the Department of Parasitology, the Department of Pathology, the Department of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Veterinary Surgery, the Department of Theriogenology, the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health, and the Institute of Microbiology. It offers various Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree Programs. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) is the main degree of this faculty. Diagnostic labs, Outdoor clinics, and hospitals of faculty offer services for animal health.
Faculty is offering MPhil and PhD in various subjects including Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Microbiology, Pathology, Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Parasitology, Theriogenology, and Epidemiology and Public Health.

Faculty of Animal Production & Technology
The Faculty of Animal Production and Technology (FAPT) UVAS Lahore is dedicated to enhancing livestock productivity, developing animal product technologies, and offering continued professional development for veterinary professionals. The primary facilities of this faculty are located at the Ravi Campus in Pattoki. Avian Research and Training Centre on Ferozepur Road, Lahore, is dedicated for quail species research and training.
Faculty has Department of Livestock Management, Department of Animal Nutrition, Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Department of Poultry Production, Department of Dairy Technology, Department of Leather and Fiber Technology, and Department of Meat Technology.
FAPT is offering B.S. Poultry Science and B.S. Dairy Technology. Moreover, it is also offering postgraduate Degree programs.

The Faculty of Bio-Sciences was established in 2002 at Veterinary University Lahore. Faculty of Fisheries & Wildlife
The Faculty of Fisheries & Wildlife at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore (UVAS) is working to promote the education, research, and conservation in fisheries and wildlife sciences. The Faculty plays an important role in addressing environmental sustainability and the management of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Through innovative teaching methods and hands-on training, it equips students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in fisheries, aquaculture, and wildlife conservation. It has three departments including Fisheries & Aquaculture, Wildlife & Ecology and Biological Sciences.

Institute of Continuing Education and Extension
The Institute of Continuing Education and Extension was established in July 2002 at Ravi Campus Pattoki of Veterinary University Lahore. The institute aims to expand and enhance the skill development programs and extension services. This institute offers a Livestock Assistant Diploma.
Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (IBBT)
The Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (IBBt) at UVAS Lahore was established in 2009 by upgrading and merging the Departments of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Biochemistry. From its beginnings as a small DNA studies laboratory in 2006, the institute has evolved into a premier facility for advanced research, academics, and technology development in molecular biology, biotechnology, and biochemistry. This institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS)
The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) at Veterinary University Lahore is offering quality pharmacy education in Pakistan, aligned with both local and international standards. It is also offering research opportunities in various disciplines of Pharmaceutical sciences. Besides offering the undergraduate degree of Pharm. D, the institute is also offering undergraduate and post-graduate programs.
Institute of Microbiology
