Training on Feed Resources Assessment and Feed Balancing for Livestock Officers, Balochistan, held at UVAS Veterinary Academy
A five-day training program on Feed Resources Assessment and Feed Balancing for Small Animals was organized at the Veterinary Academy of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. This feed resources and feed balancing training was organized under the project to restore and strengthen the livestock sector after the floods in Balochistan.
The aim of the training was to enhance the capacity of veterinary doctors belonging to the Livestock Department of Balochistan. The participants were trained on feed inventory, fodder conservation methods, ration balancing, and feed planning in animals.

At the closing ceremony, the speakers said that scientifically based feed management is very important to increase livestock production and cope with the effects of climate change. James Okoth from FAO appreciated the efforts of the university, experts and participants. He said that the link between field problems and academic skills is very important and this training is an important step in this direction.

Director General of Livestock Department Balochistan Dr. Farooq Tareen, highlighted the practical importance of training, assured of organizing more programs and training of this nature in Balochistan.
