The Seventh PPA Central Executive Committee Meeting held in Islamabad
The seventh Central Executive Committee meeting of the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) was held at the PPA Head Office in Islamabad. The PPA Central Executive Committee Meeting was chaired by Acting Chairman Ghulam Khaliq. Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Poultry Association, Khalil Sattar, attended as a special guest. Dr. F.M. Sabir was also present as Group Leader.
PPA Central Executive Committee Acknowledged the Efforts
Acting Chairman Ghulam Khaliq described the abolition of the additional 4% tax imposed on the poultry sector as a historic achievement for the industry. He stated that this success was the result of the collective and continuous efforts of the Pakistan Poultry Association’s leadership, members, and the entire team.
Dr. F.M. Sabir paid tribute to the Secretary General of the Pakistan Poultry Association, Gul Aziz Awan, for his continuous coordination, tireless efforts, and effective role during the Supreme Court proceedings related to the 4% additional tax case. He said that Gul Aziz Awan’s day-and-night efforts for protecting the interests of the poultry sector were highly commendable.
He further stated that the strong support, consultation, and collective cooperation of colleagues, including Sohaib Javed, made this important success possible, which stands as a clear example of unity and joint struggle within the poultry industry. On this occasion, the successful organization of the Ramadan Subsidy Bazaar was also appreciated, and the services of Chaudhry Fargham Toor and his team were acknowledged.
New Memberships
During the meeting, the minutes of the previous Central Executive Committee meeting were unanimously approved, while applications for new memberships were also approved. Secretary General Gul Aziz Awan gave a detailed briefing on new memberships, rules and regulations, and procedural matters.
Poultry Health Issues at PPA Central Executive Committee Meeting
The PPA Central Executive Meeting also discussed disease-related challenges facing the poultry sector. Vice Chairman South Region, Lal Bakhsh Kolachi, expressed concern over the growing impact of recent poultry diseases and emphasized the need for timely diagnosis and effective strategy.
It was decided that Dr. Hanif Nazir, Convener of the Disease Committee, would remain in continuous contact with relevant members, while disease-related samples would also be shared with him to ensure timely diagnosis and proper guidance.

The Central Executive Committee Meeting also emphasized the need to make full use of quality laboratories at government livestock, poultry, and agricultural research institutions so that scientifically sound and effective solutions could be developed for the disease challenges faced by the poultry sector.
At the conclusion of the PPA Central Executive Committee Meeting, the association reaffirmed its commitment to continue its efforts for the stability, growth, and protection of members’ rights within Pakistan’s poultry industry.
