Seminar on Cattle Nutrition organized by Faculty of Animal Husbandry FAH UAF

A one-day seminar on innovation and opportunities in cow feed and cattle nutrition was organized at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Dean Animal Husbandry Professor Dr. Qamar Bilal, Chief Executive Officer of Elementary Hafiz Noman Mustafa, Chief Executive Officer of Dairy Lake Noshirwan, Professor Dr. Muhammad Younis, Dr. Haq Nawaz, Dr. Fawad Ahmed and others were present in the seminar.

Professor Dr. Qamar Bilal said that improving academia-industry linkages is the most important need of the hour. In this regard, concrete steps are being taken in the University of Agriculture to find scientific solutions to the problems faced by the agricultural sector and reduce the problems of farmers. He said that the cost of cattle nutrition is high, in order to reduce it, recommendations are being made to the farmers, and the research process is going on with full energy.

He said that animals should be given fresh fodder equal to one-tenth of their weight, while they should be provided with free access to drinking water. He said that the cost of animal care should be reduced and modern methods should be adopted for their health management.

DairyLac Chief Executive Officer Noshirwan appreciated the efforts made for the development of agriculture at the Agricultural University and said that this is paving the way for increasing production and ensuring food security. Other experts also spoke at the seminar, which shed light on various topics related to cow nutrition.

Speaking at the seminar, the participants said that achieving a knowledge-based economy is inevitable for sustainable development, for which by promoting academia-industry relations, food security can be ensured as well as poverty reduction goals can be achieved.

On this occasion, it was further said that due to the development in the livestock sector at the national level, the protein deficiency has been overcome and the health of the people has also improved. However, there is a need to ensure an increase in productivity by promoting modern trends in the livestock sector.
