PVMA registered in KP, Interim Governing Body Formed
Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) has been formally registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the Societies Registration Act 1860, Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was issued a registration certificate in Peshawar on April 28, 2026. After the registration of PVMA in KP, an interim governing body of the organization has also been formed, which will work to make the representative organization of veterinary doctors in the province functional. According to the documents, the registration number of the association is 473/15/10497.

Dr. Khalid Farooq has been appointed as the president, Dr. Shehryar Ahmed as the vice president, Dr. Khalid Khan as the general secretary, Dr. Atif Khan as the joint secretary, Dr. Saifuddin as the press secretary and Dr. Akbar Ali as the treasurer. Dr. Syed Hamid Kamal, Dr. Muhammad Naveed and Dr. Fazal ur Rehman are also part of the governing body as members.

General Secretary PVMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Khalid Khan said that after registration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PVMA has gained a strong legal basis. According to the rules and regulations of the association, regular elections will be held as soon as possible so that veterinary doctors across the province can elect their own leadership. He said that the aim of the association is to strengthen and unite the veterinary profession, highlight professional issues and play a role in the development of animal health and livestock sector.
