Punjab Secretary Livestock Visited VRI Lahore| Reviews Disease Surveillance and Disease Diagnostic Projects at Veterinary Research Institute

Secretary Livestock Punjab Ahmed Aziz Tarar has visited Veterinary Research Institute. However, Punjab Secretary Livestock visited VRI Lahore to review ongoing development initiatives. During the visit, he assessed the progress of the Directorate of Animal Disease Diagnostic, Reporting and Surveillance (ADDRS) and the institute’s Annual Development Programme (ADP) projects at Veterinary Research Institute Lahore.

Moreover, Director General (Research) Dr. Sajjad Hussain, Director ADDRS Dr. Halima Saadia, and Director General (Extension) Dr. Syed Nadeem Badar welcomed the Secretary. They also gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing development projects. In addition, they highlighted the progress of district diagnostic laboratories, the procurement of modern laboratory equipment, and efforts to strengthen the veterinary diagnostic system across Punjab.

Secretary Livestock Punjab appreciated the progress made under all development projects. Furthermore, he directed the department to ensure the effective use of mobile veterinary laboratories. He also emphasized the need to provide timely diagnostic services to livestock farmers. Moreover, he instructed officials to complete the remaining projects without delay. As a result, livestock owners across Punjab will receive modern and high-quality veterinary services to their doorstep.

Furthermore, Secretary Livestock Ahmed Aziz Tarar stated that the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab is fully committed to strengthening animal health services. For this purpose, livestock dept is utilizing modern technologies and all available resources. He said the department is enhancing disease surveillance, expanding early diagnostic facilities, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality veterinary care across the province.

He added that these efforts are aimed at providing efficient, farmer-focused veterinary services, protecting livestock health, and promoting the sustainable growth of Punjab’s livestock sector.Finally, he reaffirmed that the department’s primary objective is to protect animal health, improve veterinary service delivery, and promote the sustainable growth of the livestock sector.
