Pre-Monsoon Vaccination of Livestock started in Sindh

Provincial Minister for Livestock Sindh, Muhammad Ali Malkani inaugurated the Pre-Monsoon Vaccination of Livestock 2026. The aim of this livestock mass vaccination campaign is to protect animals from diseases in cattle colonies across Sindh and further strengthen the livestock sector. The slogan of the campaign is “Precaution is better than cure” and “No animal should be deprived of vaccination”.

The inauguration ceremony was specially attended by President Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association Shakir Umar Gujjar. On this occasion, DG Extension Dr. Mubarak Jatoi, Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Nobat Khoso, DG Poultry Production and Research Dr. Salahuddin Shah, DS Livestock Muhammad Imran and Dr. Abdul Manan Khokhar, among other officers, were present.

Significance of Pre-Monsoon Vaccination of Livestock

Provincial Minister for Livestock Sindh Muhammad Ali Malkani said in his address that the Sindh government is taking practical and effective steps for the development of the livestock sector and the prosperity of farmers. He said that the risk of disease spread among animals increases during the monsoon season, hence timely vaccination is very important.

Livestock Mass Vaccination Campaign

Under the principle of “prevention is better than cure”, the scope of this campaign has been expanded across Sindh to protect animals from seasonal diseases. This initiative will not only protect valuable animals but will also save farmers from economic losses.

The Provincial Minister for Livestock Sindh said that all preparations f0r Livestock mass vaccination campaign have been completed in veterinary hospitals across the province, there is ample stock of vaccines and the staff is fully mobilized to make the campaign successful.

 

Appreciation and Suggestions by DCFA Pakistan

Shakir Umar Gujjar appreciated the leadership of Provincial Minister Muhammad Ali Malkani and the timely start of pre-monsoon Livestock mass vaccination campaign, terming it an important step for the improvement of the livestock sector. He fully supported the program and suggested that vaccination be extended to the union council level, digital records of animals should be maintained, quality vaccines should be ensured, and concessional facilities should be provided to farmers.

He termed the restoration of the Livestock Railway Corridor as a revolutionary step that would improve the safe transportation of livestock and market access. He described genetic improvement and artificial insemination as the main solution to increase production.

Shakir Umar Gujjar stressed on reforms in the slaughtering policy, especially highlighting the need for protection of female animals. Finally, he reiterated his commitment to work with the government to support farmer-friendly policies and make Pakistan a livestock export hub.
