A seminar on the topic of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) was organized by the Department of Pathology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore.
Head of Department General Pathology, CMH Medical College, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Sabahat Javed Butt was specially invited to discuss the topic. He highlighted the importance of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology for the diagnosis of various diseases and presented various case studies in this regard.
The seminar was attended by Chairman Department of Pathology, Veterinary University, Prof. Dr. Asim Aslam and Chief Organizer, Dr. Rahila Akhtar, as well as students and faculty members of various degree programs.
Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC)
Chief Organizer, Dr. Rahila Akhtar welcomed the participants and highlighted the various diagnostic aspects of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC).
Se said that through the fine needle aspiration technique, material can be obtained from the soft organs of the body for diagnostic and research purposes by using a special fine needle through the skin. She said that this is a simple, easy and inexpensive technique in which sampling can be done from different organs at the same time.
Se said that expertise in this technique is of utmost importance for obtaining accurate material.
Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Chairman, Department of Parasitology, specially participated in the seminar and presented a souvenir to Prof. Dr. Sabahat Javed Butt.
