CDFA Delegation Meeting with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan
A delegation of the Corporate Dairy Farmers Association (CDFA Delegation) called on Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan. They held detailed discussions on the development of dairy and livestock sector, investment opportunities, and future expansion plans in Pakistan.
Development in the Corporate Dairy Farming Sector
The CDFA Delegation informed the Federal Minister that corporate dairy farms in Pakistan have introduced modern breeding techniques, artificial insemination, scientific herd management, and advanced milk handling systems. These developments have significantly improved the production of high quality milk. They also highlighted that value-added dairy products, cheese, and other processed dairy items are now being produced according to international standards. This is creating strong export potential for Pakistan.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the formal dairy sector has played an important role in import substitution, employment generation, and the promotion of veterinary and technical expertise. The introduction of advanced genetics, machinery, and internationally recognized dairy practices from countries such as Australia, the United States, Canada, and European nations has greatly enhanced both production and quality standards in the sector.
Policy Reforms for Dairy Farming Sector
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan stated that Pakistan’s dairy and livestock sector possesses immense potential. Its growth requires easier financing, investment-friendly policies, and stronger implementation mechanisms. He said that providing businesses with affordable financing and easier access to capital could help promote modern technology, value addition, and exports.
He further stressed that alongside policymaking, effective implementation is equally essential to create a business-friendly environment and strengthen the formal economy. The Minister described cooperation between the government and private sector as an important aspect for Pakistan’s agricultural and economic development.

Camel Milk Farming and Other Aspects
Special discussions were also held regarding investment opportunities in camel milk farming, vaccines, taxation, and other livestock-related sectors. Jam Kamal Khan noted that several regions of Pakistan are well-suited for camel farming and modern dairy projects, offering significant opportunities for investment and exports.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Federal Minister for Commerce invited the association to submit detailed proposals regarding financing, taxation, exports, vaccines, and the overall development of the dairy sector so they could be considered during the upcoming budget and policymaking process. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the growth, investment, and export promotion of Pakistan’s dairy and livestock sector.
