A delegation of the All Pakistan Meat Exporters and Processors Association met with President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi at the Presidential Palace. The delegation included Mian Abdul Manan, Syed Hassan Raza, Kamran Khalili, Bilal Tata and Saqib Butt. In the meeting, an appeal was made to resolve the issues related to foot-and-mouth disease, slaughter of useful and breeding female animals and other issues related to livestock and meat exports. Reports were also presented in the meeting regarding tax and quarantine issues. Regarding foot-and-mouth disease, an appeal was made to announce a national program to control this disease. A request was made to ban it under a uniform policy in all provinces. The concerned officers were also present on the occasion. A national task force on meat exports is expected to be established to resolve the issues. Along with this, more meetings are also expected in which farmers and representatives of relevant institutions will also be included.
