UVAS Signed MOU with Intervac

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore and Intervac Private Limited to enhance educational and research cooperation in vaccine production. The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor of the Veterinary University, Professor Dr. Naseem Ahmed, and the Chief Executive Officer of Intervac, Ashfaq Ahmed Khan. Senior faculty members of the university and officials from Intervac were also present on the occasion.
UVAS Contributions
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naseem Ahmed said that the Veterinary University is among the top five universities in Pakistan that have strong affiliations and links with educational institutions and industry to enhance the quality of education and research and promote local products. He said that the Veterinary University is a professional university and renowned poultry, dairy and meat industry owners in the country are graduates of this educational institution and many of them are also members of the USS Syndicate and Board of Study.

The representatives of Intervac expressed their desire to work together with the scientists of the Veterinary University in the near future in works related to vaccine production, research and development.

MOU with Intervac
Under the MoU, the two institutions will provide a platform for students and professionals for vaccine development, commercialization and technical trainings and internships in the future. They will also share knowledge, experience, methodologies and best practices related to the field for capacity building of students and professional staff.
Both institutions will jointly provide opportunities for faculty, staff and students to participate in various conferences, seminars, workshops and symposiums.
Under the MoU, they will collaborate with each other in a joint research project related to vaccine production for the livestock and poultry sector. Along with this, they will also jointly explore training opportunities by identifying specific topics for the benefit of the industry.
