IUB and IRBG signed a cooperation agreement for the promotion of advanced sheep and goat breeding technologies
A cooperation agreement on advanced sheep and goat breeding technologies was signed between the Department of Livestock Management, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genomics (IRBG). This agreement will cover the genetic improvement of goats, commercialization of research, technology transfer and promotion of international linkages. Mukhi Chini Breeders Association was also established at the event.
Details of Agreement on Sheep and Goat Breeding Technologies
Under the agreement, farmers and breeders will be provided with high-quality semen and embryos for boer, Sannen and other goats for advanced sheep and goat breeding technologies. Moreover, practical training on artificial insemination, embryo transfer, reproductive management and breed improvement in goats will also be provided through a joint platform. This important agreement was prepared under the guidance of Director Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), IUB Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif.
Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genomics (IRBG) Established for Livestock Sector
Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran and Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Professor Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor appreciated the efforts of Chairman Department of Livestock Management Dr. Faisal Shahzad to convert research projects into practical livestock technologies. General Secretary Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab Mian Samiullah and CEO Cattle Plus Ranch Rana Babar were also present on the occasion.

On this occasion, the Mukhi Chini Breeders Association was also established and Abdul Jabbar Sanghera was nominated as its president. Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Kamran welcomed the renowned Mukhi Chini goat breeders, while certificates were distributed among the prominent breeders who have rendered services for the improvement of the breed.
