Webinar held on Tumor Margins Evaluation at CVAS Jhang | ٹیومر مارجنز ایویلویشن کے موضوع پر ویٹرنری کالج جھنگ کے زیر اہتمام ویبینار کا انعقاد
A webinar on “Tumor Margins Evaluation” in Surgical Pathology was organized by the Pathology Section of the Pathobiology Department of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Jhang in collaboration with the Global Health Pathology Network.
In view of the increasing cases of tumors in pet and street dogs at various veterinary clinics, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Professor Dr. Naseem Ahmed and Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Masood Rabbani directed the faculty members to play a role in the diagnosis and treatment of these cases. The university leadership also emphasized that the expertise and knowledge related to the field of cancer should be disseminated to various stakeholders. In this context, this webinar was organized with the assistance of Associate Professor Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, Pathobiology Department.
In the webinar, Dr. Rekha Smedley, Senior Anatomical Pathologist at Michigan State University, USA, emphasized the importance of cytological and histopathological techniques in the diagnosis of cancer and the evaluation of material isolated from tumors. She also discussed in detail with Sara Diya of Michigan State University, the separation and labeling of material from tumors while taking biopsy samples.
More than 60 experts, researchers and students participated in the webinar. Pathologist Dr. Rekha Smedley, Professor Dr. Latif Tipu, Dr. Kashif Saleemi, Dr. Salman Latif Butt, Dr. Kamal Shah, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, Dr. Azizur Rahman, Dr. Adeem Rahman, Dr. Kamran Rafique and other veterinary pathologists actively participated in the discussion during the webinar.
At the end, the organizer Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed and Chairman Pathobiology Department Professor Dr. Fayyaz Qamar thanked the participants and speakers. Professor Dr. Abdul Shakoor, Principal of Veterinary College Jhang, appreciated the organization of the webinar and emphasized the continuation of such activities.
