Sindh–Balochistan Livestock Cooperation: Minister for Livestock Balochistan, visited the Livestock Department Sindh
In a significant step toward strengthening inter-provincial collaboration, Provincial Minister for Livestock Balochistan Sardar Faisal Khan Jamali visited Sindh Livestock Department along with Secretary Livestock Balochistan Muhammad Tayyab Lehri and Director General Livestock Dr. Muhammad Farooq Tareen. The visit aimed to promote cooperation and knowledge exchange between Sindh and Balochistan in the livestock, dairy, and animal health sectors. They visited key institutions of the Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department, including the Sindh Institute of Animal Health (SIAH), Semen Production Unit Karachi, and Livestock Experimental Station (LES) Korangi.

The Balochistan delegation visited the Sindh Institute of Animal Health (SIAH), Semen Production Unit Karachi, and Livestock Experimental Station (LES) Korangi.
They were warmly received by Secretary Livestock and Fisheries Sindh Dr. Kazim Hussain Jatoi and senior officials including DG Livestock Sindh Dr. Hizbullah Bhutto, DG Poultry Sindh Dr. Munawar Rana, DG Sindh Institute of Animal Health Dr. Nazir Hussain Kalhoro, DG Extension and Research Dr. Muhammad Mubarak Jatoi, and Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Nobat Khan Khoso.
Visit of Sindh Institute of Animal Health
During the visit to the Sindh Institute of Animal Health, Dr. Nazir Hussain Kalhoro briefed the guests on the institution’s performance. He briefed about the ongoing projects related to vaccine production, semen processing, poultry research, and green fodder cultivation.
The delegation toured the vaccine production unit, research and development laboratories, breeding sheds, and fodder fields. They expressed appreciation for the technological advancements and progress achieved in livestock health and biotechnology in Sindh.
To mark the occasion, Dr. Nazir Kalhoro presented commemorative shields to Provincial Minister Faisal Khan Jamali and Secretary Muhammad Tayyab Lehri.

SPU Karachi of Sindh Livestock Department
At the Semen Production Unit Karachi, Dr. Syed Zeeshan gave a detailed briefing on modern breeding technologies, semen processing systems, and genetic improvement programs being implemented to enhance cattle productivity and quality genetics.
LES Korangi of Sindh Livestock Department
The delegation also visited the Livestock Experimental Station Korangi, where Dr. Ghulam Haider shared information about projects focusing on Red Sindhi cattle breeding, semen collection, and crossbreeding initiatives aimed at genetic diversification and productivity enhancement.
Joint Sindh–Balochistan Livestock Meeting
A joint meeting of both provincial livestock departments was held to discuss joint vaccine production, technology transfer, disease control, breed improvement, research collaboration, feed mill and slaughterhouse establishment, and private sector investment opportunities.
During the meeting, both provinces agreed to:
Introduce Sindhi goat and cattle breeds in Balochistan.
Increase market access for livestock farmers.
Reserve additional DVM seats in Sindh for students from Balochistan.
To ensure continuous communication and progress, both sides decided to form a Joint Technical Coordination Committee, which will meet quarterly under the supervision of the ministers, secretaries, and director generals.

Strengthening Livestock and Dairy Cooperation
Provincial Minister for Livestock Balochistan Sardar Faisal Khan Jamali praised Sindh’s livestock policy, breeding farms, and use of modern technologies. He particularly appreciated the multi-cut fodder varieties being cultivated at LES Korangi, highlighting their potential to ensure a sustainable green fodder supply for dairy and beef animals.
Sardar Faisal Khan Jamali expressed gratitude for the hospitality and forward-looking approach of the Sindh government, stating that this collaboration marks a new milestone in inter-provincial cooperation. He emphasized that the partnership between Sindh and Balochistan will play a vital role in transforming Pakistan’s livestock and dairy sector on modern, scientific lines.
