Senior Veterinary Officer Jobs – BS-18
Under Case No. 04-RK/2026, the Livestock & Dairy Development Department has announced 61 posts in BS-18. The post carries the title Senior Veterinary Officer / Assistant Director (HQR) / Deputy Director Livestock at Tehsil Level / AI & PO / Assistant Director (ARES) / ARO (Animal Production) / ARO (Milk & Marketing) / SVO Animal Health, Punjab / SVO Barani Areas, PVTV, Rawalpindi / Senior Veterinary Officer Incharge of Veterinary Hospitals falling in Category-B / Assistant Chief (P&E) / ADIO.
These Senior Veterinary Officer jobs are offered on a contract basis for five years. The total number of posts is 61. Of these, 56 posts are for Open Merit, 2 posts are for Special Persons, and 3 posts are for the Minority Quota.
Candidates must meet one of the prescribed educational and experience requirements. First, a candidate may hold a Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences or Animal Husbandry with a basic degree in Veterinary Sciences from a recognized university.
Alternatively, a candidate may hold an M.Phil or M.Sc. (Hons.) degree with at least second division in Veterinary Sciences or Animal Husbandry. The candidate must also have a basic degree in Veterinary Sciences from a recognized university. In addition, the candidate must have three years of experience in BS-17 and above or equivalent private-sector experience. The Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council must duly accredit the relevant private-sector experience according to the SOPs of the Livestock & Dairy Development Department.
Qualification for Senior Veterinary Officers Jobs
Another option is a Master’s degree with at least second division in Project Management, Management Sciences, Policy Studies, Economics, Development, or Business Administration. The candidate must also have a basic degree in Veterinary Sciences from a recognized university. Moreover, the candidate must have four years of experience in BS-17 and above or equivalent private-sector experience duly accredited by the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council.
In addition, candidates must have valid registration with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC).
SVO and Veterinary Officers Jobs – BS-17
PPSC has also announced Veterinary Officer jobs under Case No. 05-RK/2026 in the Directorate of Breed Improvement, Livestock & Dairy Development Department.
These posts carry BS-17 and have a total of 40 vacancies. The post title is Veterinary Officer (Veterinary Officer or Semen Distribution Officer or Instructor).
These veterinary jobs are also offered on a contract basis for a period of five years.
The quota distribution includes 29 posts for Open Merit, 3 posts for Special Persons, 2 posts for the Minority Quota, and 6 posts for Women Quota.
Qualification for VO Jobs
The basic qualification is a DVM degree from a recognized university. In addition, candidates must have valid registration with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council.
The same PVMC registration rules apply to these posts. A valid registration certificate issued on or before the closing date is required. However, candidates who applied for initial registration before the closing date can remain eligible if the certificate is issued after the closing date.
Candidates who applied for renewal of an expired registration after the closing date will also be considered eligible.
Age Limit for PPSC Jobs
According to PPSC, the age limit for male candidates is 21 to 30 years, with a 5-year age relaxation, making the maximum age 35 years.
However, for female candidates, the age limit is 21 to 30 years, with an 8-year age relaxation, making the maximum age 38 years.
