LBSA new Regulations notified in Punjab Gazette

Three important notifications regarding breed improvement of Livestock Breeding Services Authority have been approved in the Punjab Gazette. These notifications include regulations for semen import, regulations for sexed semen import, regulations for embryo import, regulation of sexed semen production, and regulations for embryo production.

The new regulation issued by the  Livestock Breeding Services Authority Punjab has now become a regular part of the Punjab Gazette. Under these regulations, semen and embryo import and products have to be required to comply with the stipulated conditions.

Dairy breeds include Holstein Friesian and Jersey, while breeds used for meat include Brahman, Angus, Hereford, and Charolais. These rules will be applicable to the import of semen and embryos from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Spain, France, and Australia. Clear guidelines have also been issued for the production of embryos and sexed semen at the national level.The

Registrar of LBSA, Dr. Haider Ali Khan said that the Livestock Department is committed to the mission of increasing production through the improvement of animal breeds. He further said that this notification will provide complete guidance for breeders and embryo importers.
