Registrar LBSA Punjab Called on Chairman GCLI
Registrar Livestock Breeding Services Authority Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Laiq visited the headquarters of Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI). He called on Chairman GCLI, Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood. Dr. Saif for LBSA Punjab was also present on the occasion. CEO GCLI Brig (R) Ehtisham Younas, Director Livestock Col. (R) Abdul Rehman Qureshi and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, various aspects of livestock breed improvement in Punjab and future strategies were discussed in detail. The meeting emphasized the need to create separate breeding programs for the promotion of high-yielding dairy and beef breeds in the country so that effective genetic improvement can be ensured according to the needs of both sectors.

The meeting also discussed in detail the establishment of a modern genomic laboratory at the national level, effective implementation of breeding standards, provision of quality breeding services, availability of high-quality genetic products and promotion of modern breeding technologies, among other important issues.
The participants emphasized that effective action and strict punishments should be taken against illegal semen production units.
The meeting agreed that effective cooperation between institutions, modern research and promotion of quality breeding services are essential for the development of the livestock sector, provision of better quality animals to farmers, increase in milk and meat production and achievement of national food security goals.
