47th Annual General Meeting – PPA Election 2026
The 47th Annual General Meeting of the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) was held in Islamabad, presided over by the outgoing Central Chairman, Abdul Basit. PPA members, office-bearers, and executive committee members attended the meeting. The results of PPA Election 2026 announced the PPA Executive Committee 2026-28.
Results of PPA Election 2026
Khaliq Arshad, Convener of the PPA Election Commission, announced the newly elected office-bearers for the 2026-28 term. Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf was elected Central Chairman, Amir Ali Khan as Senior Vice Chairman, Dr. Arshad Hanif Chaudhry as Vice Chairman (North Region), and Javed Aslam as Vice Chairman (South Region).
Those elected to the PPA Executive Committee 2026-28 included Dr. Zafar-ul-Islam Siddiqui, Muhammad Adil Ali, Ghulam Muhammad, Umar Tariq, Dr. Hassan Sarosh, Muhammad Akram Chaudhry, Muhammad Javed Khan, Muzammil Hussain Shah, Muhammad Safwan Javed, Malik Muhammad Sajid Awan, Khadim Hussain, Shahid Iqbal, Bilal Amin Wahla, Dad Karim Baloch, Muhammad Ishaq Silro, and Imran Khan.
Election Commission Convener Khaliq Arshad administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers and Executive Committee members.
Performance of PPA Executive Committee 2024-26
In his address, outgoing Chairman Abdul Basit discussed the PPA’s performance over the last two years and the challenges facing the poultry industry, while also congratulating the newly elected leadership.
Addressing the meeting, Lal Bakhsh Kalachi highlighted issues concerning the South Region, particularly the import of eggs and other matters facing the poultry sector. Malik Muhammad Sharif briefed the attendees on the North Region’s performance and achievements over the past two years; he also mentioned the success of the previous two International Poultry Expos and outlined preparations for the Poultry Expo 2026.

Senior Vice Chairman Ghulam Khaliq highlighted the performance and key activities of the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) over the past two years and proposed establishing a separate, permanent secretariat and administrative structure for the International Poultry Expo (IPEX).
Central Chairman – PPA Election 2026
Newly elected Central Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf stated that he would dedicate ample time to the PPA and make concerted efforts to resolve the poultry industry’s issues with the cooperation of all stakeholders. Emphasizing consumer awareness as a critical need, Chaudhry Ashraf called for an effective campaign to inform the general public about the nutritional value of poultry products and the realities of the industry.
47th PPA Annual General Meeting
During the concluding session, Dr. F.M. Sabir spoke on key tax and policy matters affecting the poultry sector. He briefed the attendees on the progress made regarding the 4% tax issue and the PPA’s efforts concerning regulatory duties on grandparent stock.
PPA Secretary General Gul Aziz Awan presented the meeting’s agenda. The annual report and the audited accounts for the 2025-26 fiscal year were presented to the house and unanimously approved; the appointment of Muneeb Zia-ud-Din as auditor was also ratified. Mian Sohaib Javed; Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif, Lal Bakhsh Kolachi, Khalid Saleem Malik, Rai Mansab Ali, and others also participated in the meeting.
