Many organizations and individuals are working for the rights of domestic and wild animals and birds. These NGOs and individuals collect donations at the domestic and foreign levels to rescue and provide shelter to domestic animals, especially dogs, cats, donkeys and horses. However, investigations have revealed that most of the non registered NGOs working for Animal Welfare are not registered with the government.

Most of the NGOs on social media have shared their home addresses instead of offices and their personal account numbers for fund collection. Zufyshan, head of NGO JAFK, said that only two NGOs are registered in Lahore. She formed this NGO after her pet dog was killed by the dog killing squad. This is the only NGO that also has an ambulance to rescue injured animals. Aneza Khan, who works in animal welfare and rescue, says that it is the government’s responsibility to take action against fraudsters.
