Chairman Pakistan Dairy Association called on Chairman GCLI

Chairman Pakistan Dairy Association, Syed Yawar Ali, called on Chairman GCLI Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood. Meeting held at Green Corporate Livestock Initiative headquarters in Islamabad to discuss the five-year dairy development plan 2026-31.

The discussion emphasized increasing milk production per animal, improving farmers’ income and gradually bringing the informal milk system into the organized sector. Breed improvement, quality and balanced feed, animal health, milk cooling and value addition were considered as the most important in the development plan.

Further, it was discussed to make incentives for farmers conditional on increasing milk production, reducing production costs, producing dairy products according to export standards and overall better performance. FMD control, traceability and data recording were also considered essential. Along with this, the responsibilities of various institutions and the importance of consultation with all stakeholders were emphasized.
