Delegation of Dairy Farmers and Professionals Visited GCLI Farm Okara Led by Syed Yawar Ali
A high-level delegation comprising dairy farmers and livestock professionals, led by Syed Yawar Ali, Chairman Nestle Pakistan, paid a detailed visit to the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) Farm in Okara. During the visit of GCLI Farm Okara, the delegation held a special meeting with Chairman GCLI Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood. The meeting focused on the various aspects of the promotion of modern technology and sustainable development in the country’s livestock sector. Director Livestock Col (R) Abdul Rehman Qureshi, Director Farms Col (R) Imran Masood Khan and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Visit of GCLI Farm Okara
The delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing projects by GCLI for herd transformation drive, sexed semen technology, modern genetics and increasing milk production. It was informed in the briefing that these projects are playing an important role in providing animals with better genetic potential to farmers, reducing production costs and developing the dairy sector in line with international standards.

During the visit, the delegation inspected the sexed semen lab and the modern IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) lab, where they were given detailed information about the world-class facilities, modern equipment and technical processes. The members of the delegation expressed keen interest in the high-quality breeding bulls imported from the US and other countries and termed their genetic utility as very important for the country’s dairy farming.
Future Cooperation
On this occasion, Chairman Nestle Pakistan Syed Yawar Ali appreciated the efforts of Green Corporate Livestock Initiative and said that initiatives like modern genetics, sexed semen and herd transformation can prove to be a game changer for the dairy sector of Pakistan. He assured full cooperation and collaboration with GCLI for the improvement of livestock at the national level.
