A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Chenab Club, Faisalabad to further improve equestrian courses, riding events, competitions and equestrian facilities in Faisalabad.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan and Deputy Commissioner, Faisalabad, Ali Anan Qamar by the Chairman, Directorate of Sports, University of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sattar Khan and the Honorary Secretary of Chenab Club, Faisalabad, Mehr Abdul Rauf Rashid.
According to the agreement, the University of Agriculture will provide the Chenab Club with equestrian courses as well as training and other facilities at the equestrian stadium. An atmosphere of cooperation will be promoted in further equestrian competitions, research and other joint efforts. The university will provide horse riding facilities to those enrolled in the basic equitation course by the Chenab Club and separate classes will be offered for them.
The design of the classes will be in the form of lectures, which will include saddle management, basic horse riding and other related topics. These lectures will be delivered by the President and Vice President of the Agricultural University Riding Club, guest experts and experts from the Riding School. The equestrian sports facilities of the university and the Chenab Club will be further strengthened.
Vice Chancellor of the Agricultural University, Professor Dr. Iqrar Hamad Khan said on this occasion that the Agricultural University is taking all possible steps to promote sports. He said that the university organizes grand spear fighting competitions every year and along with this, fair cattle, animal beauty and milk competitions have also been the specialty of the Agricultural University.
Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamar said that the district administration is providing all facilities to bring the youth back to the field of sports so that by promoting healthy activities among the youth, a better society can be created along with reducing all health problems. He appreciated the efforts of the Agricultural University.
Professor Muhammad Saqib, Professor Dr. Muhammad Jalal Arif, Dr. Haroon Zaman, Rana Aamir, Member Chenab Club Dr. Imran and Research Associate Nihal Ahmed Khan were also present on the occasion.
