“Rabies Day Awareness Seminar and Walk” conducted on World Rabies Day at Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The event was organized by the Art and Literary Society (ALS), FVS, UAF. The chief guests were Dr Abdul Aziz Qazi Product Manager Ghazi Brothers and Dr Asim Maqsood RSM Ghazi Brothers. The guests of honour in the seminar were Dr Misbah Ijaz, lecturer Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery FVS UAF and Dr M. Muzammil Hassan, lecturer Department of Theriogenology FVS UAF.

After the formal start of the seminar Dr Misbah Ijaz briefed about the importance of vaccination of rabies in humans. She also emphasized the importance of the pre-exposure vaccine and the protocols for pre-as well as post exposure vaccination. Then Dr Abdul Aziz Qazi gave a presentation on rabies: its history, pathogenesis, signs and symptoms, transmission and also discussed losses in Pakistan due to rabies per year which is a very alarming situation indeed.

The control and eradication strategies were also discussed. Vaccination protocols for pet animals for rabies prevention were also focussed.

A free rabies vaccination camp sponsored by Ghazi Brothers was also there at which they vaccinated many animals. An awareness walk also arranged at the event.
