Four Paws International helped to relocate Kaavan Elephant from Murghazar Zoo. The Islamabad High Court has issued an order to transfer the animals from Marghzar Zoo. The services of the international animal rights organization Four Paws International were also sought in this regard.
The Four Paws team visited the Marghzar Zoo in Islamabad. The Four Paws team, consisting of Dr. Aamir Khalil from Egypt, Dr. Frank Goertz from Germany and others, along with Dr. Shammar Khan and Dr. Rana Akmal, participated in the medical examination of the animals.
The Four Paws team conducted a medical examination of Kawan. Due to loneliness, Kaavan mental condition is poor and he has gained a lot of weight, while the condition of his feet is also very bad. Thanks to the professional and good treatment of the Four Paws team, Kawan’s behavior has changed. Dr. Aamir Khalil’s gentle attitude and love brought Kawan closer and he was able to approach her while she was bathing.
Dr. Amir Khalil and his colleagues also took the help of American singer Frank Sinatra’s famous song “My Way” during the training, which made the elephant’s mood happy. According to experts, Kaavan has found his first friend, and he will be successful in further stages of training.
A special crate will be made for Kaavan transfer. Before the transfer, Kaavan will be accustomed to this crate so that there is no problem during the flight. Apart from this, Kaavan will also be put through other training stages.
On the other hand, the condition of other animals is also being considered. According to Four Paws, a pair of bears named Bablu and Suzi in the zoo are also in a very difficult condition. They were also examined by experts and steps were taken for treatment. These bears will probably also be transferred to a foreign sanctuary.
It should be noted that due to the negligence of the administration, the animals of the Margzar Zoo are in the worst condition. Earlier, two lions have also died during the transfer. The positive change in Kawan’s behavior in the presence of the Four Paws team has proven that animals’ condition can be improved through attention to needs, loving treatment, and professional handling.
