Kaavan Elephant at Cambodia, Reached Safely

Kaavan, the elephant who spent 35 years at the Marghazar Zoo, has arrived in Cambodia. American singer Cher and others welcomed him at the airport. Kawan was presented with fruits and flowers by the locals. A team of veterinary practitioners and other experts from Four Paws International accompanied Kaavan during the flight. Dr. Aamir Khalil said that Kawan’s behavior was normal during the journey. He kept eating and even slept for a while. Kawan’s behavior was as if he was used to traveling. Kawan reached Cambodia after a seven-hour flight.
Kaavan elephant is kept at the Kulen Prum Tep Wildlife Sanctuary in Cambodia. According to photos released from the sanctuary, Kawan is happy in his new place. Kaavan also expressed interest in his new companions at the sanctuary. Kawan connected his trunk with the trunk of another elephant. After adapting to the new environment, Kawan will be released into the wild in the sanctuary. According to a spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment, the cow will also be used for breeding.
