College of Veterinary Sciences offers a comprehensive 5-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine DVM Agriculture University Peshawar. Its mission is to produce skilled veterinary graduates capable of addressing challenges in animal health and management. With advanced laboratories, clinics, and livestock farms, the College supports research and education in the field of veterinary sciences along with hands-on training. Besides the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM Agriculture University Peshawar), the College has also introduced the three-year Diploma in Veterinary Sciences (DVS) after Matric. Moreover, it is also offering postgraduate programs. The college covers the following sections of subjects;

Department of Animal Nutrition – FAHAVS Peshawar 

The Department of Animal Nutrition plays a pivotal role in education and research on local animal feed resources, forage production, and nutrient requirements for farm animals. Besides offering courses for undergraduate programs, the Department is also offering MSc (Hons) and PhD programs. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories for chemical analyses, digestibility studies, and feed processing. It also conducts applied research for industrial solutions and provides consultancy services to the industry. Moreover, it also organizes training activities for farmers, professionals, and extension workers.

Department of Poultry Science – FAHAVS Peshawar 

This department was established in 1987 and focuses on education and research in poultry production. It offers undergraduate courses, MSc (Hons), and PhD programs and provides professional hands-on training to students. Research facilities of this department include hatcheries and modern laboratories. The department also emphasizes on community service, farmers training,g and skill development.

Department of Livestock Management, Breeding & Genetics

This department was established after the merger of two departments. The aim of this department is to improve livestock production through research, education, and human resource development. It emphasizes milk and meat production, genetic improvement of local breeds, and sustainable management of rangelands. The department is also offering postgraduate programs in Livestock Management and Animal Breeding and Genetics.
