College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was established in 2024. The objective of this veterinary college is to provide market-oriented human resource and research work in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The Veterinary College has the vision to be the leading veterinary institution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is offering undergraduate programs and diploma courses including Doctor of Veterinary Medicine DVM and Diploma in Veterinary Sciences.

The college offers undergraduate programs and diploma courses in the field of veterinary and animal sciences:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine DVM
• BS Animal Sciences
• BS Poultry Sciences
• BS Biological Sciences
• Diploma in Veterinary Sciences (DVS)

Each program is structured to provide students with hands-on learning experiences. Our objective is to prepare students for diverse career opportunities in the livestock and poultry sectors. We are also offering MPhil in Clinical Sciences and Pathobiology.

Departments of College

Department of Basic Veterinary Sciences

This department focuses on foundational subjects of veterinary sciences such as anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, and biochemistry.

Department of Clinical Studies

This department covers the clinical subjects of veterinary sciences including medicine, reproduction, and surgery. This is the most important department in veterinary clinical care. It prepares students to deal with animal health and reproduction challenges.

Department of Livestock Production & Continuing Education

This department focuses on animal production-related subjects while emphasizing research and education. Its focus areas include:

  • Poultry Science
  • Livestock Management

Department of Pathobiology

This department specializes in pathology, microbiology, and Parasitology. It educates students in the field of disseat diagnostics in various areas of veterinary pathology, veterinary microbiology, and veterinary Parasitology. The department offers advanced lab-based facilities for the research and training of the students.
