Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Mobile Veterinary Fleet in Punjab. The initiative will expand Mobile Veterinary Services in Punjab and provide modern veterinary care to livestock farmers in rural areas. During the special ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif inspected the state-of-the-art mobile veterinary dispensary, mobile veterinary laboratory, and mobile X-ray unit. Furthermore, the chief minister directed the authorities to organize a Livestock Conference. She also approved the proposed design of a Model Veterinary Hospital. She reviewed the facilities and their role in improving Mobile Veterinary Services in Punjab by the Livestock Department.
The Mobile Veterinary Fleet will take essential animal healthcare services directly to villages. The initiative will help farmers access timely treatment for their livestock. Moreover, mobile veterinary teams will reach remote areas and provide services at farmers’ doorsteps. As a result, livestock owners will not need to travel long distances for basic veterinary care. These measures will further strengthen veterinary services across the province.
30 Mobile Veterinary Dispensaries and 17 Mobile Labs Launched
The Punjab government has launched 30 additional mobile veterinary dispensaries and 17 mobile veterinary laboratories. These units will expand Mobile Veterinary Services in Punjab, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
The mobile veterinary dispensaries will offer ultrasound and X-ray facilities. Meanwhile, the mobile veterinary laboratories will conduct up to 40 tests on the spot. Therefore, veterinarians can diagnose livestock diseases more quickly.
Veterinary Diagnostic Lab for Poultry, Dairy, Aqua, Pets, Birds and Exotics
In addition, the Mobile Veterinary Hospital will conduct livestock disease screening and surveillance. This service will help identify diseases at an early stage. Consequently, veterinary teams can take timely action to protect livestock.
Mobile Veterinary Fleet, Modern Veterinary Services for Livestock Farmers
The Mobile Veterinary Fleet will bring modern veterinary services closer to livestock farmers. Moreover, mobile teams will provide treatment and diagnostic facilities in villages and remote areas.
According to Provincial Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, Punjab will construct and rehabilitate 230 veterinary hospitals in every tehsil. Furthermore, the government will establish a Model Veterinary Hospital in every tehsil.

The Model Veterinary Hospitals will include cattle crushes, modern mechanical crushes, and horse crushes. In addition, operation theatres will have hydraulic operation tables and modern surgical lights.
Boosting Milk and Meat Production
The Mobile Veterinary Fleet aims to improve livestock health across Punjab. Better disease screening, diagnosis, and treatment can reduce livestock losses. Moreover, improved animal health can support higher milk and meat production.
The expansion of Mobile Veterinary Services in Punjab will therefore support livestock farmers. At the same time, it will strengthen the province’s livestock sector and improve access to modern animal healthcare.
