Royal Group of China started Buffalo Embryo Production in Pakistan through IVF in buffalo. They are working on buffalo breeding for buffalo semen and embryo transfer in buffalo. They will export embryo form Pakistan. They have developed a mega buffalo farm. They are also collaborating with Livestock Department and Universities.

A Chinese company has launched a plan to benefit from the genetic potential of Pakistan’s Nili Ravi buffaloes on a global scale. The company will obtain embryos from Pakistan’s Nili Ravi buffaloes, from which high-quality buffalo offspring will be obtained in China and other countries. In this regard, Royal Group China Director and Royal Cell Biotechnology Pakistan General Manager Derek Chen gave details in a special meeting.

MOU with BRI Pattoki and Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab for Buffalo Embryo Production

According to the details, China’s Royal Group is going to invest in Pakistan in collaboration with Guangxi Buffalo Research Institute and Guangxi University China. Royal Group will obtain embryos from Nili Ravi buffaloes in Pakistan, which will be exported from Pakistan and sold in China and the international market. An MOU is being signed with Buffalo Research Institute Pattoki and Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab Pakistan for high-quality buffaloes.

Derek Chan said in a special meeting that he will work with the Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab Pakistan, the Livestock Department Punjab and the Buffalo Research Institute Pattoki to obtain high-quality buffaloes. Local data as well as DNA analyses will be relied on for the selection of buffaloes.

Buffalo Embryo Production & Potential

He further said that Chinese buffaloes produce about 500 liters of milk in a lactation, while the production of Pakistani buffaloes per lactation is 2200 liters. We want to take advantage of this genetic potential. He said that Royal Group is a leading group in China’s dairy industry, which works on various buffalo milk products and biotechnology. This group has won many awards in the dairy industry in China and is among the top ten dairy companies.

He further said that Royal Group also works in the dairy sector as well as in the digital intelligence information and health sector. The dairy sector includes fodder production, dairy farming, processing and sales of dairy products. The company has 25 world-class dairy breeding farms and five modern dairy processing factories. The company has an annual output of five hundred thousand tons.

Derek Chen said that the Royal Group believes in research and technology and has also established research centers in dairy and other sectors in this regard. He has technical support from the Guangxi Buffalo Research Institute for his work in Pakistan.

Buffalo Embryo Production by Royal Cell Biology 

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Jang Huosheng of the Guangxi Buffalo Research Institute said that the best way to benefit from the genetic potential of Pakistan’s buffaloes is to prepare embryos in the laboratory using modern technology and then place them in a buffalo to produce a baby. He said that we have world-class expertise and experience in this regard and have established a modern IVF laboratory in Lahore for this.

5,000-Head Buffalo Breeding Farm and Dairy Processing 

Professor Jing said that after selecting a suitable place in the vicinity of Lahore to obtain quality animals, a modern breeding farm of 5,000 buffaloes will be established where a breeding base of quality animals will be prepared along with modern data.

He said that sexed semen technology will also be installed in Pakistan so that it will be possible to obtain female embryos.

Regarding investment in Pakistan, Derek Chen said that along with the breeding department, a dairy processing plant will also be set up in Pakistan in the future where fresh milk as well as dry milk, cheese and other products will be produced. He said that fifty percent of the embryos produced in Pakistan will be used in Pakistan and an agreement will be signed with the Livestock Department of Punjab for this.

Derek Chen said that this project will not only increase Pakistan’s foreign exchange but will also create more than ten thousand job opportunities. Along with this, Pakistan’s livestock sector will get global recognition and the world will practically benefit from its potential.

Buffalo Embryo Production

On this occasion, Dr. Qaiser Shahzad, Project Manager of Royal Cell Biotechnology Pakistan, said that a modern laboratory has been established in Lahore for obtaining embryos, while the search for a place for a breeding farm is underway. He said that we have expertise and experience in the field of in vitro fertilization and I have personally worked on it in China.

Training on Buffalo Embryo Production

Dr. Qaiser Shahzad further said that we are making young professionals from Pakistan a part of our team who are being given special training. He said that my team includes Lab Manager Dr. Muhammad Waqas, Embryologist Amina Hafeez and Shan Zahra and Assistant Lab Manager Dr. Haider Ali. He said that after completing a few stages, embryo production will start in the next few days.
