Pakistani Delegation visited the Belt and Road Agricultural Cooperation Expo. Federal Secretary National Food Security represented Pakistan. Secretary Livestock Punjab also accompanied. Furthermore, Dr. Riasat Wasiullah was also part of the delegation.  They visited stalls and participated in seminars. This expo is related to an agricultural segment of the Belt and Road Initiative or One Belt, One Road. CPEC Agriculture and CPEC Livestock related activities were also highlighted.

Belt and Road Initiative

China’s Belt and Road Initiative is the global economic development project of China. On the other hand, its official name is “Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Development Strategy”. However, China shortened its name to “One Belt, One Road”. But, Since 2016, the world has known it as the “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)”. This is simple English Translation which the world has adopted.

What is Meaning of Belt in Belt and Road Initiative

China launched this imitative in 2013 by President Xi Jinping. Furthermore, it will cover more than 130 countries. The most interesting factor is the name of this initiative. In this name, “Belt” means the road infrastructure. On the other hand, “Road” means the sea route.

International Cooperation Agricultural Expo

This is the second international cooperation agricultural expo. This is under the Belt and Road Initiative or “One Belt, One Road. Besides the stalls, seminars are also the part. Furthermore, this is a great opportunity for the member countries. They are showcasing their agricultural potential. This expo will also be a great learning regarding CPEC Agriculture and CPEC Livestock.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor – CPEC

CPEC is an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative. China Pakistan Economic Corridor will not only affect these two countries but also benefit the neighboring countries. This project will connect the countries. This connection will not only limited to economic cooperation. I will also cover cultural and educational collaboration. Federal Secretary at Belt and Road Agricultural Expo

Federal Secretary MNFSR highlighted the importance of CPEC for the agricultural and livestock sector. Furthermore, Capt (R) Muhammad Mahmood discussed its importance in employment and development. In addition to this, he talked about the Pak China Projects in the livestock and agriculture sectors. He focused on the Buffalo Breed Improvement. He also highlighted the Seeds Genetic Improvement Projects. Importance of CPEC Agriculture and CPEC Livestock with respect to export was also highlighted.

Secretary Livestock at Belt and Road Agricultural Cooperation Expo

Secretary Livestock Punjab highlighted the potential of the livestock of Punjab at “One Belt, One Road” expo. Furthermore, he also presented the achievements of the livestock department. Masood Anwar especially focused on the 9211 virtual governance system. Besides this, he also elaborated on the service delivery system of the department. Secretary Livestock said livestock has great potential. China-Pakistan cooperation will lead to an improvement in the export of livestock products.
