Awareness on Brucellosis in animals, farmers meeting held at Talamba. A farmer awareness session on Brucellosis (abortion) was organized in Talamba by the Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan.

This activity was organized under the project of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, the main researcher of which is Associate Professor Dr. Mian Muhammad Owais, Department of Pathobiology. Dr. Mian Muhammad Owais, Dr. Abdul Samad, Dr. Muhammad Raza Hameed and Dr. Abdul Rauf Khalid, along with Deputy Director Livestock Mian Channu Dr. Ehsan-ul-Haq and Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Hafiz Javed Iqbal spoke at the event.
The awareness session was organized at the camp of Progressive Farmer Malik Muhammad Iqbal Dogar and Malik Abdul Ghaffar Dogar. Progressive Farmers Mehr Sohail Abbas Hiraj, former Nazim, Malik Allah Dutta Dogar, Hafiz Muhammad Bashir, Mian Muhammad Faisal, Rana Muhammad Munir Manj, Rana Kashif Mahmood Manj Advocate and other farmers participated.
The meeting was informed about the causes, transmission, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and other aspects of Brucellosis (abortion). Dr. Mian Muhammad Owais also shed light on the factors increasing the spread of this disease based on his research. He also informed about the University Diagnostic Laboratory organized by the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences so that farmers can benefit from this facility.
At the end of the event, a question and answer session was also held in which farmers got information from BZU experts about various issues related to their livestock. Dr. Mian Muhammad Owais thanked Deputy Director Livestock Mian Channu Dr. Ehsan-ul-Haq and all the participants and assured them that Bahauddin Zakaria University stands by them for the improvement of livestock. Faculty of Veterinary Science Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan presented a shield of honor to Dr. Ehsan-ul-Haq, Deputy Director Livestock Mian Channu for his research on brucellosis and assistance in obtaining samples and organizing a successful livestock farmer meeting.
