Averroes Laboratories (ARL), Islamabad, is a Veterinary Diagnostic Lab extending diagnostic services in the species of poultry, livestock, dairy, pets, birds, equines, and aquaculture since 2012. This Vet Diagnostic Lab offers diagnostic tests for poultry, dairy, livestock, and other animals. Our animal diagnostic lab provides complete veterinary diagnostic testing services.

With the availability of multiple advanced analytical and investigative tools, a comprehensive set of lab services are extended for health management and quality evaluation of different products of animal origin used by humans. Disease Diagnostic Services

ARL offers disease diagnostic services for poultry, livestock, pets, equines, and aquaculture. The veterinary diagnostic testing services include the area of pathogen isolation & typing by using conventional and molecular diagnostic tools, along with drug susceptibility of the isolated microbes. Monitoring of Contaminants and Sanitation Quality

Our Veterinary Diagnostic Lab offers the services of microbial load monitoring to determine the sanitation quality of hatchery, farm utensils, shed premises, and feed mill appliances. Other Veterinary Diagnostic Testing services include environmental microflora monitoring, disinfectant efficacy evaluation, and microbiological quality evaluation of feed ingredients, feed, and water in a farm setting.

Post-Vaccination and Post-Medication Monitoring

Post-vaccination or post-medication monitoring is very important for the long-term health evaluation of a flock or herd. ARL – Veterinary Diagnostic Lab offers comprehensive services to monitor the efficacy of vaccination and medicine used in animals along with the monitoring of health status of a flock or herd, using the techniques of ELSIA, HI, Conventional PCR, ii-PCR, & Real-Time PCR.

Haematology and Serum Chemistry Evaluation

With the help of Veterinary Specific Testing equipment, our Animal Diagnostic Lab also provides CBC, Liver Function Test, Renal Function Test & electrolyte analysis for sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, protein and phosphorus in poultry, livestock, pets & equines.

Livestock and Poultry Products Monitoring

The quality of the animal products used by humans is very important. In this regard, lab services play an important role in testing and evaluation. This includes poultry & livestock products quality evaluation, including the quality of day-old chicks, egg quality, meat quality and milk quality covering the presence of microbes, mycotoxins, and drug residues.

Miscellaneous Tests

Our Animal Diagnostic Lab also offers the special services of DIVA Testing, LSD testing, Capri pox testing, Covid testing in Pets, Adenovirus typing in poultry, and rabies post-vaccination evaluation in pets. Also available are the tests regarding parasitic load determination, water pH, fungal identification, total salts of water, hardness of water, disinfectant efficacy test, detection of ectoparasites and early detection of mastitis.

Averroes Laboratories (ARL) was set up in 2012 by Prof. Dr. Khalid Naeem Khawaja, who designed its present infrastructure based on his 40 years’ experience of visiting & working at various national & international labs of BSL-2, BSL-3 & BSL-4 categories. The other team members at ARL include individuals with vast lab-work experience, ranging between 5-20 years in the subject of Microbiology, Pathology, Haematology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
