American Boer Goats and American Saanen Goats in Pakistan
The first consignment of American Boer goats and American Saanen goats has arrived in Pakistan through a collaboration between the Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genomics (IRBG) and Lunar Livestock Farms. Mr. Tyler Sparks, former President of the American Boer Goat Association, paid a special visit to Pakistan for this occasion. He held meetings regarding various aspects of promoting the Boer breed, advancing breeding practices, and genetically improving local goat breeds. Goat Embryos and Goat Semen will be provided of these breeds in Pakistan.
Meetings with Officials
Mr. Tyler Sparks held a special meeting with the Punjab Provincial Minister for Livestock, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani. Additionally, he met with the Sindh Provincial Minister for Livestock, Muhammad Ali Malkani. Moreover, he attended a seminar concerning the Sindh Livestock Vision.
In a meeting with Major General (Retd) Shuja Anwar, Chairman Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI), discussions were held on various aspects of herd transformation for sheep and goats through the use of modern technology.
Meetings with Dairy Stakeholders
Tyler Sparks also visited ZK Dairy Farm and other institutions. He specifically visited the office of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association Pakistan and met with Shakir Umar Gujjar; the potential for mutual cooperation between the associations was discussed during this visit.

Throughout these meetings and visits, discussions covered various topics, including the promotion of Boer goats in Pakistan, modern breeding programs, increasing meat production, the genetic improvement of local goats, and the advancement of commercial goat farming.
Dr. Qaiser Shahzad, CEO of the Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genomics (IRBG), stated that under the expert supervision of Tyler Sparks, high-quality Boer goats —sourced from the world’s finest bloodlines—have been imported into Pakistan. These animals will facilitate the launch of modern genetic and breeding programs in the country. Additionally, Saanen breed animals have also been imported.

He noted that the supply of semen and embryos derived from these goats—processed at IRBG’s state-of-the-art, world-class laboratory—will commence within the next few days. This initiative will assist local farmers in breeding animals with superior genetic potential.
