GCLI Imports Top Ranking Holstein Friesian Bulls to Boost Dairy Genetics in Pakistan
In a landmark development for the national dairy industry, the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) has imported top-ranking Holstein Friesian bulls in Pakistan from the United States. This has set a new benchmark in Pakistan’s dairy genetics. This initiative, in collaboration with Cloud Agri Group, aims to make the best global genetics and sexed semen technology accessible to local farmers. The sexed semen of these CRV Bulls will be available to the farmers at affordable prices. GCLI organized a grand ceremony in Karachi to receive these breeding bulls.
According to GCLI officials, these newly imported bulls possess a TPI (Total Performance Index) above 3200, classifying them among the top global breeding bulls in the dairy world. These elite bulls belong to CRV Genetics, an internationally recognized name in dairy cattle improvement.

Advanced Dairy Genetics with Elite Holstein Friesian Bulls
By offering sexed semen from elite Holstein Friesian bulls in Pakistan, GCLI plans to empower small and large-scale farmers alike, enhancing their profitability and long-term sustainability. Chairman GCLI Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood, while speaking at a grand reception ceremony in Karachi, said that the import of these high-quality breeding bulls is not just a commercial activity but a national service. Our mission is to bring the world’s best genetics within reach of every Pakistani farmer, he stated. Through the supply of sexed semen of these CRV Bulls, we aim to help farmers improve herd quality, increase milk yields, and build a self-reliant dairy sector, he added.
Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood highlighted that these breeding bulls will increase the genetic potential of Pakistani cows, leading to higher milk production and overall dairy efficiency. These CRV bulls will define a new direction for Pakistan’s dairy future. By improving the genetic base of our herds, we move toward food security and self-sufficiency in milk.
This initiative aligns with GCLI’s National Herd Transformation Drive, a long-term program focused on introducing modern breeding technologies, genetic improvement, and farmer training programs across Pakistan, he added. With local sexed semen production already underway in Pakistan, this project will significantly reduce the dependency on imported semen and help retain valuable foreign exchange.
