Dr. Ioannis Mavromatis Visited Pakistan to Discuss Modern Animal Nutrition and Farm Management
Dr. Ioannis Mavromatis, an international veterinary consultant for the globally renowned companies Nuevo and Calier, visited Pakistan, where he held meetings with experts from the dairy, poultry, and livestock sectors. The purpose of the visit was to discuss modern technologies, toxin management, and issues related to animal health and productivity within Pakistan’s animal nutrition and farm management sectors. He was invited by TecMan International.
Ch Saqib Dawood, Chief Executive Officer of TecMan International, welcomed Dr. Ioannis to Pakistan and described his visit as a significant opportunity for the country’s dairy and poultry sectors. He noted that direct technical exchanges with international experts prove instrumental in promoting modern animal nutrition, feed management, and farm production in Pakistan. Dr. Tauheed Iqbal, a consultant at TechMan International, also accompanied Ch Saqib Dawood during visits to various dairy and poultry farms and institutions.
Dr. Ioannis Mavromatis Meets PAFDA, VC UVAS and Others
Dr. Ioannis held a special meeting with Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Director General of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority. During this meeting, various aspects of animal nutrition, animal health, and production were discussed in detail.

He also visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, where he met with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Masood Rabbani.
Visit of Poultry Companies
During exclusive meetings with Dr. Gulraiz Ahmed (CEO, Zubair Feeds), Dr. Abid Hussain (COO, Islamabad Feeds), and Dr. Jahanzeb (GM Production, Markaz Feeds), detailed discussions were held regarding nutritional products and vaccines. He also met with Sohail Ahmed (Chief Operating Officer) and other representatives at Noor Poultry.
The discussion covered feed quality in poultry farming, the risks posed by toxins, the use of toxin binders, and their impact on bird health and production efficiency.
He also met with other professionals, including Dr. Hayat Jaspal, Bilal Qasim (at CP Feeds), and Dr. Lutfullah (at K&N’s).
Dr. Ioannis Mavromatis Visited Dairy Farms
At Universal Dairy, Dr. Ioannis met with Dr. Imran Babar. He also visited the Nestlé farm, where he reviewed the farm’s administrative and technical operations and engaged with experts on topics such as dairy farming, animal health, feed management, and production efficiency. Discussions focused on modern dairy management, feed quality, and methods to enhance the productive capacity of livestock. Additionally, an important meeting took place at Sapphire Dairy. During his visit to Eastern Dairies, Dr. Ioannis met with Dr. Waseem, Dr. Waqas, and other experts.
Importance of Toxin Binders
Across these various meetings, special attention was given to toxin binders and their function. The experts discussed how mycotoxins present in feed can adversely affect animal health and production performance; therefore, high-quality feed management and effective toxin control programs are of critical importance. The economic impact of toxin binders and other nutritional products was also discussed during the meetings.
It was emphasized that the efficacy of any feed additive or nutritional product should not be evaluated solely based on its price; rather, it should be assessed by considering its impact on animal health, feed conversion, milk or meat production, disease risk, and overall farm profitability.

Ch Saqib Dawood described Dr. Ioannis’ visit as an initiative by Techman International to foster collaboration between international technical experts and local professionals within Pakistan’s dairy and poultry sectors, and he expressed his gratitude for his visit to Pakistan.
