Working of Viking Genetics in Pakistan has been started in collaboration with Al Shaafi Animal Health. The inauguration ceremony was held at Nishat Hotel Lahore. The chief guest of the ceremony was the Director General Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha. Former Secretary Livestock Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Salahuddin, Chairman Livestock Breeding Services Authority Prof. Dr. Aleem Bhatti, Prof. Dr. Saima, Prof. Dr. Makhdoom Abdul Jabbar, Prof. Dr. Saleha Rafat and others attended.

Experts from Viking Genetics in Pakistan

Holstein Specialist and Animal Scientist Ms Hanna Driscol from Sweden and Farm Economist Mr Leonardo Passadore David from Denmark gave a detailed explanation about the various products and services of Viking Genetics. Experts said that animal health, long life, high production, and improved fertility are among the priorities of Viking Genetics. On this occasion, they also answered various questions of the participants. More than a hundred dairy professionals, veterinary professionals, farm managers, and corporate and commercial dairy farmers were present at the event.

On this occasion, it was informed that Viking Genetics is a leading dairy breeding cooperative in the world that provides livestock breeding solutions based on modern scientific research. Its products include high-quality semen, which is selected on the basis of prominent traits such as high milk production, improved feed efficiency, fertility, and animal health.

At the event, experts further informed that Viking Genetics’ famous breeding programs include Viking Holstein, Viking Jersey, Viking Red, and Pro Cross, which are designed keeping in mind different environmental conditions and farming requirements. In particular, the Golden Cross program consists of balanced crossbreeding of three generations that gives amazing results in milk production, fertility, and animal health. Alshafi Animal Health Collaboration 

Speaking at the event, Managing Director Al-Shaafi Animal Health Dr. Zafarullah Khan said that Al-Shafi Animal Health is a licensed partner of Viking Genetics. Along with Friesian and Jersey, semen of red dairy cows and beef breeds will also be available from Viking. We will select the genetics keeping in mind the local conditions of Pakistan and the needs of the industry.

Dr. Asadullah Khan, Director of Research and Development at Al-Shafi Animal Health, said that bookings for Viking Genetics products are ongoing. Semen and other products will be available in Pakistan in the next few months. Dr. Ameerullah Khan, Founder and CEO of Al-Shafi Animal Health, said that breed improvement is inevitable in Kashmir and the northern regions.
