TRG and FNP join hands to provide Slick Gene Cow Genetics in Pakistan

In this regard, TRG Managing Director Mr. Dave Hayman visited Pakistan and met with Nestle Pakistan, FrieslandCampina Engro Foods, commercial dairy farmers, dairy professionals, and other stakeholders. Dave Hayman also met with officials of the Punjab Breeding Services Authority. In these meetings, various aspects of the problems faced by the dairy sector due to heat stress and loss of production, and solutions to these problems, were discussed.

He said that Silk Gene bulls, slick gene semen, and slick gene embryos will soon be available in Pakistan through a collaboration between TRG and Farming Next. He added that the basic need of Pakistan’s dairy sector is to provide animals that can withstand extreme heat. Slick Genetics is a practical and scientific solution to overcome heat stress, protect livestock, and increase production.
Dr. Muhammad Akram, Chief Executive Officer, Farming Next Pakistan, said that the collaboration with TRG is a major step towards solving the problem of heat stress in the dairy farming sector. The provision of heat tolerant genetics through slick gene in dairy cattle will not only increase milk production but will also lead to an increase in the profitability of the dairy sector. Furthermore, it will also promote investment in the dairy sector. Along with this, it is also an important step in the context of animal welfare. He said that along with the provision of silk cattle slick cattle genetics, technical consultancy will also be provided to dairy farmers.
