Successful IVF in Buffalo, China Importing Embryos from Pakistan

The Royal Cell Biotechnology team under the leadership of Dr. Qaiser Shehzad has achieved another success. They have obtained calves through Embryo Transfer in Buffalo.  Calves from successful IVF in Buffalo have been obtained from buffaloes at Ibrahim Dairy Farm. This is another milestone in ovum pickup, in vitro fertilization, and embryo transfer in Buffaloes in Pakistan. On the other hand, China is importing Buffalo Embryos from Pakistan under CPEC.

Successful Embryo Transfer in Buffalo

In this experiment, six buffaloes were pregnant from eight transfers. On the other hand, five calves were born successfully through buffalo embryos. Along with this, two calves have also been obtained through embryo transfer at HAS Dairy Farm located in Gujranwala.

Dr. Qaiser Shehzad says that the success of embryo transfer in buffalo in Pakistan is going fast. In fact, Royal Cell Biotechnology formally started this journey at the commercial level.

China and IVF in Buffalo

Dr Qaiser Shahzad said that China is interested in importing buffalo embryos from Pakistan. In this regard, superior breeds of buffaloes will be preserved in Pakistan through in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer. Dr. Qaiser said that China has so far imported 10,000 high-breed buffalo embryos worth more than 60 million rupees from Pakistan.

Dr. Qaiser Shahzad said that the Royal Cell Biotechnology is a breeding project of Royal Group China under the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Importance of Embryo Transfer

He said that thanks to in-vitro fertilization and embryo transfer, more than one calf can be obtained from a high-breed buffalo at a time. Further, in the life of this buffalo, it can have many calves from it and further, its high-breeding can also be extended. With this technology, the buffalo breed can also be preserved in the form of embryos through IVF in Buffalo.
