Dairy farming in Pakistan and Successful Dairy Farming Business. How can farmers make it a profitable activity? Tariq Tanvir broadcast a special program because of its importance. Prof. Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha and Ex Secretary Livestock Nasim Sadiq were the guests.
Prof. Pasha highlighted the importance of animal nutrition. Besides this, he also gave importance to the selection of breed. He also emphasized the overall comfort of animals because of the importance of housing. Nasim Sadiq shared his personal experience as a small farmer. He emphasized zero wastage farming. This is the basis of farm economics because there is no wastage on the farm.
Nasim Sadiq also showed the practical implementation of by products utilization. With the production of biogas, farm utilizes the manure. It uses slurry as as biofertilizer which strengthens the land. Due to this activity, land requires less fertilizer, therefore farm economics is improved.
On the other hand value addition is also important. Farmer should process the extra milk into different types of byproducts. Example of such products are khoya, cheese, sweets etc.
In addition to this, farm sanitation with ventilation and sunlight is also essential because it improves the overall herd health.
