The three-day Balochistan Livestock Expo 2019 was organized by the Government of Balochistan. The expo, which lasted from November 18 to 20, was held at the University of Balochistan, in which livestock and private companies associated with the livestock industry from all over Pakistan set up stalls. A large number of experts, farmers, teachers and students from all over the country participated in the expo.
Poultry and Livestock Expos in Pakistan
The Balochistan Livestock Expo was the first livestock expo in the history of the province, the successful holding of which has given rise to new hopes. The event was presided over by Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai. He visited various stalls of the exhibition and appreciated the steps taken for the promotion of the livestock industry.

The opening ceremony of the expo was attended by Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, federal and provincial ministers, diplomats and other important personalities. President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi formally inaugurated the exhibition. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said that Balochistan’s livestock sector has immense potential which needs to be fully utilized.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, while addressing the inaugural ceremony, said that the livestock sector is the backbone of the economy in Balochistan and our government is utilizing all available resources for its development. He said that the aim of organizing the expo is to create investment opportunities in the province and to expose local farmers to modern technology.
Balochistan Livestock Expo decisions and Activities
Various seminars and workshops were also organized during the expo in which experts presented the problems faced by the livestock sector and suggestions for their solutions. Experts said that adopting modern research and farming methods for the development of livestock in Balochistan is the need of the hour.
Addressing the ceremony, the speakers said that the development of the livestock industry will not only strengthen the economy of the province but will also create new employment opportunities. On this occasion, awards and shields were also distributed among the companies and farmers who set up the best stalls.
