
New Rules and Regulations for Embryo and Semen Import and Production
Livestock Breeding Services Authority Punjab has notified new rules and regulations for embryo import and semen import of exotic animals. LBSA has also issued new regulations for embryo production and regulations for sexed semen production of cattle at the local level.
Under this notification, importers must comply with the necessary conditions and regulations for importing exotic embryos and semen. Under this notification, dairy breeds include Holstein Friesian and Jersey, while meat breeds include Brahman, Angus, Hereford, and Charolais breeds. This notification will apply to importing embryos from the United States, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia, etc. Rules and regulations have also been issued for the production of embryos and sexed semen at the domestic level so that milk and meat production can be improved at the local level.

In this regard, Registrar Livestock Breeding Services Authority Dr. Haider Ali Khan says that the Livestock Department is working on improving breeds to achieve better animal production. He further says that this notification will provide complete guidance to breeders and embryo importers.
