Requirement for Recruitment in Livestock Department
In a joint statement, the associations said that the shortage of skilled personnel continues to increase due to the lack of regular recruitment. Newly constructed livestock dispensaries under the ADP scheme in Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Lodhran, Multan, Khanewal, Kasur, and Bahawalpur are facing staff shortages. Despite having sanctioned posts for Veterinary Officers, Veterinary Assistants, Artificial Insemination Technicians, and other personnel, many of these facilities require working staff.

The associations stated that individual veterinary workers are currently responsible for vast service areas, adversely affecting service delivery, animal treatment, vaccination programs, artificial insemination services, and emergency response. They emphasized that the successful implementation of the Punjab government’s livestock development initiatives and public service programs requires adequately trained manpower, while internship programs cannot replace permanent staffing needs. They called for immediate recruitment in Livestock Department Punjab to improve veterinary services for livestock farmers across Punjab.
