Punjab Livestock Show 2024 and Livestock Competitions organized by PCMMDC

Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company organized a two-day Punjab Livestock Show 2024 in Sheikhupura. Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel attended as a special guest. Besides the livestock exhibition, the Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab Pakistan also organized livestock competitions. They arranged the Buffalo Milk Competition, Cow Milk Competition, and Livestock Beauty Competition. Cattle Competition, Camel milk competition, and Bull Beauty Competition were also organized.

DG Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Member National Assembly Saiful Malook Khokhar, Chief Operating Officer Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company Jazeb Saeed, GM Admin Punjab Col (R) Shahzad Khalid, Sheikh Asad Zafar, Additional Secretary Technical Livestock Department Dr. Mohammad Usman Tahir, Director General Livestock Department Dr. Ashraf, Dr. Ateeq and other officers also joined. President Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab Pakistan Khan Ali Imran Rath, General Secretary Samiullah, Ch Ashiq Gujjar, Saeed Hasan Hotiana, and others also participated in the Punjab Livestock Show 2024.

Importance of Punjab Livestock Show 2024

Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel said that the Department of Livestock is always busy for cattle breeders. Livestock shows play an important role in encouraging cattle breeders. A commitment to achieving better production is born among the farmers and breeders. By organizing these exhibitions, fairs, and livestock competitions a healthy trend is developed in the society. Cattle competition, cow milk competition, and buffalo milk competition are of interest to the general public also. The public also takes an interest in livestock beauty competition and bull beauty competition.

Results of Livestock Competitions

The Livestock Beauty Competition, Cow Milk Competition, and Buffalo Milk Competition were organized during the Livestock Show. In the Cow Milk competition, Irfan Ali’s cow stood first with 74 liters of milk production in 36 hours. Muhammad Ilyas’s cow stood second and gave 69 liters while Irfan Ali’s cow gave 51 liters and attained third position. Besides cattle competition, buffalo also participated.

In the buffalo milk competition, Muhammad Tanveer’s buffalo came first with 44 liters in 36 hours. Sardar Ghulam Mustafa came second with 40 liters while Chaudhry Naeem Wajid’s buffalo came third with 39 liters. In the camel milk competition, the camel of Amjad Ali of Sheikhupura got the first position by giving 16 liters while the camel of Amjad Ali got the second position by giving 15 liters. Muhammad Akram’s camel won the third position by giving 14 liters in the Camel Milk Competition.

In the buffalo beauty competition, Shahadat Ali’s buffalo of Lahore came third. Asghar Ali’s buffalo from Faisalabad came second while Imran’s buffalo from Nowsheeran Wirk came first. In the buffalo bull beauty competition, Haji Muhammad’s buffalo from Saiwal came first, Mehboob Ali from Sheikhupura came second while Buffalo Bull of Ehtesham from Farooqabad came third.

In the cattle bull beauty competition, Muhammad Munir’s bull of Gujranwala got the first position while Abdul Rehman and Seth Hasan got the second position. The third position went to Abdul Munam’s bull.

In the show, a bull beauty competition was held between 16 bulls from all over Punjab.

Other Activities at the Punjab Livestock Show 

Besides buffalo and cattle competition, the show also organized an awareness seminar for people involved in livestock. In the awareness seminars, citizens were informed about better maintenance of machinery and animals health and production. Beautiful animals from all over the country were exhibited during the Livestock Show. Stalls were also set up by various companies in the show. The participants of the fair were entertained by the traditional dance of horses and camels. On this occasion, an informative quiz and milk-drinking competition were also organized and prizes were given.
