PAFDA Signs MOU with FCCU to Strengthen Scientific Collaboration
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA) and Forman Christian College University Lahore (FCCU) for the promotion of scientific research, analytical testing, laboratory capacity building and professional training in the fields of agriculture, food, water and pharmaceuticals. The agreement was signed between PAFDA Director General Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha and FC College Vice Rector Dr. Dr. Douglas Trimble during a grand ceremony held in Lahore. Senior scientists, faculty members and high officials of both institutions were present on the occasion. Renowned scientist, Vice Chairman PAFDA and Dean FC College Professor Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Douglas Trimble termed the agreement as an important milestone for scientific progress in Punjab and Pakistan. He said that both institutions will work jointly to convert scientific knowledge into practical benefits.
Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha said that this collaboration is fully aligned with the vision of PAFDA, and will play a significant role in achieving the organization’s Vision 2035.
Details of PAFDA MOU with FCCU
Under this partnership, FC College University’s academic and research expertise will be combined with PAFDA’s modern laboratories and scientific resources, which will enhance the regulatory system, analytical capacity, and public health and environmental protection. The agreement will include joint work on pesticide testing, advanced testing methods, laboratory improvement, training programs and drug research, while cooperation will also be enhanced in advanced areas such as genomics and molecular diagnostics. The collaboration will also include joint research, exchange of experts, promotion of scientific data systems and professional training.
This landmark agreement is a significant step towards strengthening the links between academia and regulatory science in Pakistan, which will enhance scientific capacity, improve modern testing systems and promote evidence-based policymaking.
