National Dialogue on Safe Milk
The president addressed the inaugural session of the national dialogue on safe milk. President Dr. Arif Alvi has stressed on the provision of food items including milk to the public in accordance with hygiene and said that the production of quality products should be the top priority. The government has fully cooperated with the livestock and dairy sector. Along with the growing population, attention should also be paid to providing health, education and employment. In view of the increase in population, it is imperative to increase agricultural production. He expressed these views while addressing the “National Dialogue on Safe Milk”.

President at National Dialogue on Safe Milk
The event was organized by the Pakistan Dairy Association in collaboration with the Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam, First Lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi, Punjab Food Authority Chairman Omar Tanveer, Syed Yawar Ali, Pakistan Dairy Association officials, Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Professor Dr. Naseem Ahmed and other experts also attended the event.
The President said that we cannot compromise with the health of our children, steps should be taken to increase the production of milk and dairy products. He said that Pakistan is the leading milk producing country. There is a need to make the dairy sector compatible with modern requirements and coordinate measures to provide safe and healthy milk to the people. There are many methods in use to make milk safe. The President said that addressing the national dialogue is an honor for him.
He said that due to the increase in population, it is necessary to increase agricultural production. He said that the government has fully cooperated with the livestock and dairy sectors and will consider the suggestions of the Pakistan Dairy Association in the future as well.
Adulteration and Safe Milk
President Dr. Arif Alvi said that adulteration is a bad condition, provision of quality and adulterated products to the people is inevitable. There is a need to pay attention to the problem of stunting and malnutrition of children, mother’s milk is the safest and most necessary. He said that when children do not get proper food, their weight will not increase, milk is a complete food for them, there is no better food for a child than mother’s milk, it is necessary to pay attention to caution and abstinence for better health.
The President said that for this purpose, the public should be made aware, people were also made aware about breast cancer through various programs in the country, we can prevent diseases through caution. The President said that special attention should be paid to animal breeding at the local level to promote the livestock sector and increase milk production.
Other Speeches at National Dialogue
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam, while addressing the ceremony, said that the growing population and providing them with food is a big challenge. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is giving importance to the agriculture and livestock sectors, he has declared the agriculture sector as his priority in his last two budget speeches. The Federal Minister said that we should focus fully on the livestock sector.
Addressing the ceremony, Punjab Food Authority Chairman Omar Tanveer said that vigorous steps are being taken to make this sector compatible with modern requirements. He said that children and adults should be provided with safe and energy-rich milk. Syed Mazhar Iqbal and Ali Ahmed Khan of the Pakistan Dairy Association also spoke.
