UVAS observed World Animal Day, signed an MOU with the Police Animal Rescue Centre

UVAS observed World Animal Day. University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore also signed an MOU with Police Animal Rescue Centre.  Moreover, the Vets Care Club of the University organized a Pet Awareness Activity at Beacon House School Canal Side Campus Raiwind Road Lahore. Police Animal Rescue Centre also collaborated for this activity.

The university arranged an awareness walk on the day. Besides the faculty members, students also participated.

MOU with Police Animal Rescue Centre 

The memorandum was signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Anila Zameer Darrani from UVAS. On the other hand, Chief Traffic Officer Lahore/SSP Amara Athar and ASP Operation Wing Muhammad Raza from Police Animal Rescue Center signed the MOU.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus said that the Veterinary University is always ready to provide all possible support to the Police Animal Rescue Center. We will support in the treatment of animals and the diagnosis of diseases.

Purpose of Centre 

In his speech, CTO Ammara Athar talked about the establishment of the Police Animal Rescue Center and its objectives. He said that according to the vision of IG Punjab, the welfare of animals is being focused. The center was established keeping in mind the aim of saving the lives of animals in injured conditions due to accidents and cruelty. This center is to providing treatment-related facilities to sick and injured animals. He appreciated the UVAS cooperation in treatment and other services for animals.

MOU Highlights 

Under the memorandum of understanding, both institutions will organize outdoor veterinary camps and seminars for animal welfare-related awareness and treatment. This will also provide internship opportunities to the UVAS students for practical training.

Both institutions will cooperate in capturing stray animals and Neutering. Further, the Veterinary University will provide facilities related to the treatment and diagnosis of various diseases. Moreover, the University will also seek sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies. Along with this, both institutions will also broadcast all such activities through social media and electronic media for public awareness.
