Minister for Livestock Balochistan called on Minister for Livestock Punjab

Minister for Livestock and Agriculture Punjab Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani and Minister Livestock Balochistan Sardar Faisal Khan Jamali met in the Punjab Assembly Lahore. The provincial minister also met the Speaker Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan. In a special meeting with the Minister of Livestock Punjab, the mechanism regarding animal vaccine production, delivery, disease control, and data sharing was discussed.

In the meeting, the two ministers agreed to promote mutual cooperation in the livestock sector between Punjab and Balochistan and to benefit from each other’s experiences. On this occasion, Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Attil and Provincial Secretary Livestock Balochistan Muhammad Tayyab. were also present. Additional Secretary Dr Usman Tahir, DG Livestock Balochistan Farooq Tareen, and other officers also joined the meeting.

Discussion of Minister Livestock Punjab

Minister of Livestock Punjab Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, the Punjab government is taking practical steps for the development of the livestock sector. These measures will usher in a new era of prosperity for the livestock farmers. For the first time in the history of Punjab, a huge amount of Rs 20 billion has been allocated for the livestock sector for one year. Projects like livestock card, foot and mouth disease control program, and distribution of cattle among widows and divorced women of South Punjab have been started. 80,000 cattle farmers will benefit from the livestock fattening program.

Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani further said that the Punjab government is going to start the program of strategic vaccination. In addition, compartments and zones will be carried out in Punjab under the FMD control program.

Provincial Minister Livestock Balochistan Sardar Faisal Khan Jamali said on this occasion that we need vaccines from Punjab to protect our sheep and goats from diseases. For this, we should unite to stop the transportation of sick animals in the border areas of both provinces. A policy needs to be formulated. Sardar Faisal Khan said that training facilities should be provided for the veterinary doctors and staff of Balochistan. This training is required in the veterinary research labs of Punjab.

Support for Livestock Balochistan

Minister of Livestock Punjab Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani assured all possible support from the Punjab government. The Punjab Government will provide vaccines to Balochistan and help control the foot-and-mouth disease. He further said that disease-free compartments will be established in Balochistan in the first phase. All kinds of support will be provided to do this.
